China's Ministry of Commerce announced on Saturday that they have initiated two distinct investigations concerning the United States' semiconductor trade policies and the alleged dumping of select chip products. The first investigation aims to determine if the US semiconductor trade policies exhibit bias against Chinese companies. The second inquiry pertains to the purported dumping of specific US analog chips, which are integral components in items like hearing aids, Wi-Fi routers, and temperature sensors. According to a statement from the ministry, the United States has implemented several chip-related restrictions on China in recent years, including export controls and biased trade practices. These "protectionist" measures are considered discriminatory towards China and are perceived as efforts to hinder the progression of China's high-tech industries, especially in sectors such as advanced computing chips and artificial intelligence, as noted by the ministry.
